On RAM heatspreaders...

I'm looking at getting 2 sets of 2 x 512 Corsair Value Select for an upgrade for one computer. since they dont have heatspreaders, I need to know what heatspreaders would be good to get.

There will be 0 overclocking, but this system does get hot (Intel + small case + poor ventilation).

Don't bother, RAM doesn't get very hot, and if your case temp gets so hot that you start having problems, it isn't the RAM, it's the case, get a better case or a case fan, before something else screws up.

Run the system using Prime95 and slightly touch one of the memory modules on the stick to see if it is hot. If it is slightly warm you do not need heatspreaders. If it is really hot (overclocking and upping the voltage) then you need heatspreaders. But any day a fan blowing directly into the memory sticks is way much better than heat spreaders.

Alright, I'll keep it in mind. But, we're not looking to change anything except the memory at this time, so changing the case/adding fans is not an option.

no ram heatspreaders needed, even if you were to overclock. and especially with corsair value select ram. that stuff seems to run pretty durn cool
