Open UDP ports in w2k?

I dont use a firewall, software or hardware, I have a telus DSL internet connection and use windows 2000.

Is there any way to check/manually open ports on w2k? Are they all open by default? I did a port scan on one website and it says my default UDP port is closed.

Any suggestions?

technically they are all open by default... but i think the issue you are running in to is your DSL modem is probably acting like a router as well and through NAT your port traffic is not being forwarded to your PC.

Does your PC itself have an IP address of 192.168.x.x?

Which port are you looking at? Telus blocks common server ports.

from a command prompt type in:

netstat-an

this will tell you all open ports on your machine behind any firewall.
