Since installing a BFG GF9600GT card I have been unable to get any OpenGL games to run. These are not just older games but some more recent ones. I defrag daily (in the background) and always have the latest nVidia WHQL drivers installed.

All games and applications running DirectX run very well.

MoBo is Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Graphics card is BFG GF9600GT., CPU AMD64 3700+, 2GB DDR2 memory, monitor Samsung 2232BW

Any suggestions please?

What GPU did you have before the 9600GT?
Did you run a driver cleaner when uninstalling the old GPU?
Have you tried reinstalling the game/s that aren't working?
Have you updated DirectX lately?

Prior to this GPU I had a GF7800GTX which ran all games OK. I changed to the current card to obtain better performance and support for a new 22" lcd monitor.

I didn't run a driver cleaner because I read somewhere on this site that the current nVidia installer for the newer drivers automatically clears all the old driver files out. Is this not the case?

All the games have been reinstalled several times and I have the latest DirectX.

It would be useful but tedious to perhaps reinstall the old card and see if the GL games would then run?

Try installing the newest 182.06 Geforce driver from nVidia first.

Adds OpenGL 3.0 support for all 8/9/200 series cards. Might fix your problem.
