I have a reasonably old laptop (early XP era) that I have donated to my parents to act as a basic media center.
I am looking for an OS that simply does web access and iPlayer or any similar media viewing software?
Do you have any recommendations, ideally it needs to be easy to use and be as lightweight as possible?
The only thing I could think of was Chromium OS but there do seem to be lightweight OS' designed for viewing media but none of them offer iPlayer access?
I don't mind whether it is *nix, or some software that sits on top of windows, but this laptop is certainly lacking power so the less special effects and the more use there is the better!
Edit: note the laptop has to TV in so recording features don't really matter
