Operation Flashpoint 2

I'm looking forward to this game. The first one is probably the best simulation FPS out there.

I did not play the 1st. but I have my eye on this. looking for a good new fps that's of the realistic side- something good for sp or fun with a couple friends.

That being said I am skeptical too as these games seem to be buggy and in need of a few patches before it is playable.

might need to upgrade my rig too :/

played the first one, one of the hardest fucking games ever. I appreciate realism but good lord! I did enjoy it though.

WOOOOW, had no idea it was this soon for release.

I absoultely LOVED the first one. I had no idea what I was getting into and the realism, WOW. I remember i was running and running and running from a crew. I was running through forests and at the end, I had to sprint and hide myself from a tank and patrols. My heart was racing throughout most of these missions because I knew that I can die within a blink of an eye. I repeated so many missions cause I wanted to perfect but also because they were so damn thrilling and real.

Can't wait!

If you're looking for the sequel to OpFlash then you want ArmaII. OpFlash 2 is not made by the original OpFlash dev team, but ArmaII largely is.

You could add 100% more carebear to ARMAII and still it would suck, the game is just terrible and it has nothing to do with the realism.

How that sad piece is referenced so often on this board is beyond me.

It's referenced because Bohemia Interactive Studio, the makers of ARMA II, are also the ones who made the original Operation Flashpoint.

Yes! I remember the mission where the Hind kept circling around trying to find you. Being scared to death hidding in the forest waiting for it to fly off.

The best part of OFP is the mission building. I remember setting up a misssion at the airport.
I set myself up defending with a squad and then having two Chinooks come in to drop off 40 enemy soldiers to come take the airport from my squad. I didn't get the scripting right and all 40 of the paratroopers went spalt on the run way. I had to go research the script to get the chutes to open. Once I did it was a blast.

i'll wait for the actual demo or something. the videos always looks amazing, and was also the case in arma2 but the actual game disappointed.

It isn't that bad and I was honestly surprised at how relatively bug free it was upon release -- a far cry from ArmA I's release.

I need to check for some new missions though.
