Need to tweak this thing a little more but so far it's dual 32M stable at 3.0GHz@1.525V. I'm completely amazed at this thing. I never thought a cheap dual core would run as fast as the Opteron 146 I had. Hopefully with some tweaking and more voltage I can get it Prime stable.

Christ..... This is the reason id never buy an FX chip. He has past the speed of an FX-60 at a fraction of the cost.

It's a CCB1E 0550 VPMW I got from Monarch a few weeks ago.

I'll try and get some screenshots later today or by this weekend. School has been crazy so I don't have a lot of time right now but I will post something up for you guys.

Very nice. BTW, Dave is trying to get a hold of some of those steppings, if anybody wants one, I think.

Screenshot would be nice!

What temps are you getting? Also, what speed are you running your RAM? I have the same thing, 165, Ultra-D, G.Skills HZ. Thanks!

I'll try and get some screenshots for you guys like I said. I'm running the ram with a 166 divider which puts it at 276MHz with 3-4-4-8. Glad I picked up the HZ sticks as this chip doesn't seem to like lower dividers.

Custom H2O. Loads at 38C with 1.45V so I imagine I'm in the low 40s with 1.525V. I'll have to check that when I get some screenshots.

Just got my 165 CCBWE 0551 UPMW slapped in about an hour ago. Running 2.77Ghz at 1.54v- 42C dual prime loaded on a Zalman 9500CNPS. SS posted later after extensive testing for stability.

My old Ultra-D wouldn't either. It was good up to about 320HTT but pooped out after that. I got a new ADO revision and it seems to have solved the problem.

Nice. That's the same stepping my brother got. He's only tested up to 2.7GHz@1.525V so far. I think he wants to wait for his phasechange to arrive before he takes it any higher.

I didn't plan on going that high with the voltage, but temps are in check. I'm looking at phase systems currently. I'd like to see how the OCZ unit is received by the market for $300-ish before I decide for sure what I'm getting. Release is supposed to be end of March '06. Hopefully it's on schedule I'd go water if that system was not on the horizon. For $200 I could get a decent WC setup these days.

That's what my brother is waiting for too. His 165 is stuck at 2.6-2.7GHz on air, but I'm sure he'll pass me by when he gets that OCZ unit.

Yeah, its watercooling. Only way you'll ever hit those kind of speeds on a 165. I was reading last night some are hitting 3.5GHz with the FX-60 using watercooling. Its an impressive overclock nevertheless. Good job.

Thanks. Pretty rare to hit 3.0GHz on air unless you live in Siberia and you leave your rig outside.

How did you determine the divider was an issue?

I tried booting into Windows with a 133, 140, and 150 divider and each time it was a no go. The only thing I can figure is that the chip/mobo didn't like the lower dividers for some reason. Otherwise, it should have at least booted with the ram running at a slower speed. I had the same issues with my Opteron 146.

I have a DFI NF4 SLI-DR (ABO) running this rig. It's good to 330HTT.

What BIOS are you running? I bought mine used and it already had the 704-BT2A.

I'm just amazed at this 165 so far.... 2.75Ghz, 42C loaded w/ 1.54v and the Ceramique has not even started to cure. My 170 took a few days to play nice and that has only seen 1.46v to get 2.80Ghz. I have not tried any higher voltage with the 170, but anything over 2.80Ghz is not prime stable for more than a few hours at 1.46v.

I'm going to enjoy phase with both of these cpu's
