Opteron 170 or 4200 X2?

My friend is building me a computer. Which processor would be the best, opteron 170 or 4200 X2? I plan on using the computer for burning DVDs and some gaming. I'm not initially planning on overclocking (grad school is taking up too much of my time). I would like the computer to last for at least 3 years.
