I came home at lunch to spend some time on hold with Page. After a few minutes, Edward came
on the line and and asked if I could verify an order. After giving him my order number, he confirmed
that I placed the order.
I then asked him if the item would actually ship, since my CC has already been charged.
He seemed "surprised" at my question and said it would be charged within 48 hours. I told Edward
that my CC had already been charged with flawless efficiency. He again seemed surprised that it had already been charged, after he actually read the details of my order.
I again asked if the item would ship, since the price was surprisingly low (rule-breaker I know, but seeing a charge within a couple of hours of the order raised some concerns, especially with this deal and some of the alleged questionable tactics that I've seen about Page in a few forums).
So Edward got to looking at my order in earnest and said "Oh...please wait a moment". He came back in about 6 seconds and said that the order has been canceled "due to a system crash this morning that affected some of our prices".
I drew blood from my lip to keep from laughing at his explanation.
After digging my teeth out of my lip, I inquired when I should see a refund on my CC. Edward replied it should be today or tomorrow.
So, being the nice guy I am, I'll give it an hour or so before I call the CC company to dispute the charge and have it reversed.

Got this while posting this message:

Dear Greedy Bastid,

This is to inform you that we have been able to cancel the order and the item will not
be shipped.

If there has been an authorization number from the Bank for the charge prior to your cancellation
request, we will void the authorization or reverse the charges.

mine, so far, still says a status of OK as of 2:15 CST, ordered at 9:03 CST. I expect my cancellation notice is just delayed...

Mmm.. I would call them but if they are trying to cancel orders maybe we can..sneak through the cracks..=X

I hope this goes through...slim chance but still a chance right? =X

These guys probably are going order by order and cancelling them manually.
With thousands of orders placed, it can take them days or weeks!

Perhaps..but either they cancel the order in the next day, or ship my dirt cheap Opterons or they will NEVER have me as a customer again, and I will file a BBB complaint.

I've never heard of them up until last night.
Now they're a "household name", all across the internet at the "hot dealing" websites.
Can you think of a cheaper and more efficient way to build up the name recoginition? LOL

That's why you use junk hotmail accounts.

Either way, I ordered 15 of these in 3 separate orders, and 2 of the PCConnection 148s. If something slips through, great. If not, c'est la vie. It was, after all, a deal too good to be true.

It's certainly not something to go all idealogically absolutist over.

yes but they default and do somthing stupid on this, they will be infamous for all to know .

Yeah..I know....Mmm...I just don't like to be used like that by a company....because it is feeling like a big new customer scam...so I'm just calling to voice my...frustration on that...

I kinda doubt it. Even if they ship you dirt cheap opteron you will not be their customer again unless they have fairly competitive price. The point is are they willing to take perhaps 50+ in loss to gain you as a potential customer in hope to make future profit from you. My guess is not.

Hopefully if they do cancel, they'll do it quickly without charging my CC. But I guess I could only wish to get Opteron at those prices.

whenever there's a price mistake, it is never good to call. Calling only brings the price mistake to their attention even faster.
There was a slim, very slim chance that some of the orders would fall through the cracks.

Some of us who have been here a little while and have taken advantage of pricing mistakes know that once in a long while, they actually go through.

It's slim, but it happens.

You never really know.

If this proves to be fraud on their part to get people to notice there site, It's going to backfire. I will personally make sure that I spread the word to avoid this site at all costs. I am also going to notify the AG of the state they are in to investigate this.

We might see a 175 at those prices like couple of years down the line. But even then it might not be that cheap. 20 bucks? nah ...

I got 2 athlon 64 3500 from ANT online a few months back for $30 including shipping. So it's not out of the question for companies to follow through on mistakes. Mine was canceled for this though.
