Yeah as much as I love Oregon their season went down the shitter after Dixon got injured.

It's incredible how 4 PAC-10 teams have taken such 180s so far this season. They've all been ranked in the top 4 at one point, 3 in the top 2--but have taken complete nosedives since then to really crappy teams. USC lost to a dismal Stanford team, Cal to Orst, and Oregon, now with their 12th string QB in there likely going down to UCLA.

Though I'm happy my Bruins are winning and will be bowl eligible after this, but to think we're helping the Trojans (whom we'll likely lose to next week) get into the Rose Bowl kind of sickens me +_+

Last year we helped our basketball arch rivals Florida into the National championship game by knocking off SC, which was also just as bittersweet.

How sweet it would be though to deny SC from an NC one year, and from a Rose Bowl the next.

I'm not one of those people that simply root for their conferences. I'd much rather have Oregon get dominated in Pasadena than to see USC win yet another one..

We'd split it w/ ASU, but ASU beat us so they'd get the nod for the Rose Bowl. I certainly wouldn't complain about it

Should UCLA upset USC and Arizona top No. 7 Arizona State the same day, the Bruins (6-5, 5-3) would get the Rose Bowl bid

Anyone know why this is? Is the tiebreaker not based on the head to head matchup?

There would be a 4 way tie between ASU, Oregon, UCLA, and USC all with 3 losses. Of those teams, Oregon and UCLA would be 2-1 against those teams, and UCLA won the head to head.

That assumes that Oregon wins against Oregon State. If they lose that, there is a 4 way tie between ASU, Oregon St, UCLA, and USC. UCLA and USC have the better records in that case, and UCLA wins the tiebreaker again.

That would also guarantee Hawaii a BCS bid, if they are undefeated.

Anyways, I believe that Oregon is completely overrated. Whenever Dixon fails to connect with the offense, the entire team is dead. Look at the Cal vs. Oregon game where Dixon threw interceptions all over the place and he never really had a great throwing game. That's how Cal managed to scrape a victory. And USC? Booty wasn't even there and not to mention USC's offense isn't exactly stellar anymore, especially the passing game.

But anyways, props to fUCLA for scoring a big win.

i want to replace him with a REAL COACH that has REAL HEAD coaching ability. KD only had wide receiver coaching exp in the NFL before come to UCLA. and i do not want to replace him with disco jay norvell, our inept offensive coordinator, nor do i want to promote dewayne walker, who is about 5 years away from being ready.

i am taking all inquiries, except for terry bowden, because i don't think he'd fit here. the biggest rumors are for chris petersen of boise state, although he's only had 2 years of HC experience. there's always paul johnson at navy, and former NFL coaches are being thrown around, such as steve mariucci (i'm not sure about that one) or jim mora jr (ditto.) steve spurrier may be interested, since he sounds a bit disgruntled with south carolina, but he may be interested in texas a&m.

i want the administration to fire KD immediately, even if we go to a bowl game, for fear of losing out in the coaching search and then just being stuck with promoting an assistant. we won't lose that many recruits if we hire a big name, impact hire.

the evidence is there. look at what ben howland has done in his four short years at UCLA - we were in the absolute dumps with lavin as coach, and that exact same craziness with lavin as coach is being repeated with KD as coach. we need a proven coach to bring us to prominence.

we SHOULD have had a great season this year. the games we lost were completely winnable with an able coach considering the experience we have. injuries are an excuse, as we do have depth. the depth was mismanaged (case in point, osaar rashaan) and our o-line coach is just horrendous. plus tevaga got hurt in the garbage time of the utah game, when he really should have been out. as a guy who was touted as an all american, there was no reason to expose him to injury. hell there was no reason to put in ben olson today, since oregon couldn't move the ball to save their lives.

KD was a nice five year experiment, but the results have come in, and it was a failure. we may not have had the scandals of the toledo era, but we sure as heck haven't had the results either.
