I would like to know if a 900MHZ 200FSB Athlon can be overclocked in any way on ASUS A7V-E mb.
There are 256MB of PC133 ram.
It looks as if the CPU is locked, so without unlocking it, would I be able to increase the bus speed beyond the current 100mhz ?
I increased the FSB to 110mhz and it runs stable for a day now. the SDRAM speed is also set to 110.
The BIOs allows me to set SDRAM speed to either 110 or 146, but with setting it to 146, WINXP started to behave strange, so I reverted back to 110.
The CPU speed showing up at post is 990MHZ. now, the question is, can I go beyond this speed if I unlock the CPU ? is it worth the effort ? I wouldnt bother just to get another 10% speed increase.
assuming the FSB can not go beyond 110, will this CPU be capable of running with a multiplier greater than 10 ?
one more thing. the BIOS version is 1003. if I go to BIOS 1004 will I have more overclocking options ?
Is there a way to set the FSB to 115 or 120 on this board ?
the current BIOS only allows to go between 90 and 110.
