I have an ABIT SA6R and am going to attempt to overclock to 160mhz. With a ratio of 4:4:1(CPU:SDRAMCI) my PCI bus will hit 40mhz. Does anyone know if this will be a big issue considering its rated for 33mhz? Thanks in advance.
what cards do you have in the slots. Also, keep in mind you'll be overclocking the AGP to 80MHz instad of 66MHz and at agp4x thats 320MHz instead of the 266MHz spec. Bumping up the FSB can have a negative effect on your hdd data as well.
I have a SBLive X-Gamer 5.1 in PCI slot2 and a Realtech 10/100 NIC in slot3(or 4 can't remember). I have 2 ATA66 7200RPM Maxtor drives on an ATA100 controller. My vid card is a GeforceDDR and I'm pretty sure it can take over 100mhz. Thanks for the info man.
If your Abit board is like mine you wont have any worries. I run my Abit board at 160 FSB which sets the PCI external clock automatically to 1/4 so the PCI cards can handle the high FSB. As for the video card most Geforce cards are pretty bullet proof and wont mind the o/c. I have the Abit VH6II just to let you know.
