Overheating problem

These past few days my computer has grown extremely loud and hot, I cleaned the dust out and check if all the fans where running.
All of them worked including the video card fan.
I am not sure exactly what the cause of this random jump was as I have neither overclocked or change anything in my computer. According to my temp display on my case I am reading 80 degrees Fahrenheit and before all this happened my computer was displaying around 64 on full load.
To prevent the computer from really going overboard I have a fan cooling the side of my open case (not sure if that?s a good idea, but that?s what I?m doing)
Either way even with that on it seems at least my video card is extremely hot and Everest is noting 47 degrees on my GPU and 43 ambient, 51 for the CPU and 38 for the motherboard.
Anybody might have any ideas? Or a way to fix it without having to pay any money?
(I just blew all my money on books for school and I?m broke, so it will be a while before I can buy anything.)
Something at least temporarily?
And in the future what would you recommend I do/buy?

I am running on a P4 550 with HT @ 3.4Ghz with stock HSF
Gigabyte 7800GTX
2 gigs of corsair value ram DDR2 533
915 P Combo-FR (flashed to latest version if that helps any)
600W Okia PSU (I know it?s ******)

also my case is some sort of hybrid of a raidmax mustang as the front is a little diffrent.

Maybe the temp sensor is faulty. Is the CPU heatsink hot or warm to touch???

dont you mean celsius? 80 degrees F is nothing. It's been that here in cali once or twice within the last month.

the HSF is warm but not hot
the video card however is quite hot
the PSU was hot until i got the fan running on it.

Also I think I better disreguard the temp sensor from the case.

Have you installed any performance utility prgrams lately? Has the room temp jumped at all?

I do remember installing rivatuner about 1-2 weeks ago
I changed some color settings with it but didnt dare touch
anything else.

For RivaTuner I just went under the main tab and under drive settings I put "Reset all driver settings to their default values"

Maybe you should try remove ne changes u made in RivaTuner. Once again, has the room temp changed at all?

If you're not overclocking, uninstall RivaTuner.

Once you get together about 50 bucks get a new power supply, that may be the problem.

temp's have dropped and i uninstalled riva tuner
seems a lot better so far.
lets hope it keeps up (ive only had it on for 15 minutes)
