I think it's my entire server, as you can now see everything in the www directory, and everything is still there.

Unfortunately, I'm at work for the next 12 hours, and I don't have the FTP/CPanel PW on me.

For a while it said something about israel. :roll:

Edit 3: It seems like all the index.* pages are gone...but they were just code that I have backed up. It's the SQL DB that I'm worried about.

Happened to a linux game server I used to run... I went to login as root for some maintance and my password didn't work for root or any of my user accounts.

happened to a site I manage a couple weeks ago. pro hisbollah pro iran. there was a vulnerability in the CMS i was using. had host restore a back up from a few days earlier then applied the patch. I was good to go.

There's some script that automatically blows away index.* server-wide, so all that needs to happen is for one person on the same iron as you to slack on the updates, and bam.

Agree on the fact that they're losers though.

That's what I figured...I assume the DB is probably untouched then.

yep, only hoses up any file named index.*

Easy enough to fix with a proper backup but still a pain.

Okay, found the password and got a temp index.htm up, but my work has the cpanel port blocked, so I can't check the DB.

Unless you were using an admin-level account to access it, and they read the pages before deleting them (stupid and unlikely, respectively) you're fine. I'd be more worried about a SQL injection.

like I said, everything that I know for a fact got deleted, I have backups of, but the DB I do not.
