P1130 vs MultiSync FP1350x

I was going to order a Dell P1130 for $275 shipped. While at Frys I picked up an NEC MultiSync FP1350x for $160 just to see if I really wanted to go with a bigger monitor. Going from my 17in this one looks great! I know on paper the P1130 is better, but since I would be running them both at the same resolution (1600 x 1200) the only real difference would be the dot pitch (.24 vs .25). Does anybody out there think I'll really notice the difference between these two monitors?

I assume you're getting the P1130 either refurbished or 2nd hand. If so, there are some variances in image quality and the general condition of the monitor. If you're getting the NEC new, then that might be less of a factor.

I've gone through 2 Dell P1130 monitors, this being my 2nd one. The first one had several cracks and scratches, so I returned it, and they sent me another one with no major blemishes, but the image quality of the 2nd one is noticably worse than the first one. It's not bad, but it's just not as good as the first one, which was excellent image quality wise.

Yes, both refurbished. I was looking into an LCD, but after researching I decided that LCDs are a year or two away yet (for me).

Well, this FP1350 looks great to me, but then I'm not picky and I'm going from a very cheap 17in. My guess is that not too many people own a FP1350x, so I may not get too many comments on this subject. This monitor also has a DVI input and it would be nice to know if using DVI would make a difference.

I have another 29 days to return this one (FP1350x) but I'm hoping to get more input from owners of both monitors.

Well, I thought I wouldn't get too many replies on this. Lots of P1130s out there but not too many FP1350xs. I have 28 days left to play with the 1350 before I decide to return it; I'll continue to evaluate it.
