p35 mb and e7200?

Hello group,

I have been messing with pc for many years. But it's been a long time for me since I have built from scratch. I just ordered all the parts for my build. But I have one concern. Will I have any problems with mounting an e7200 on the GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard out of the box? Or will i have to flash the bios first? Any good sites on how to do that? Did I choose the right mb?

You worry too much. Wait for the board to arrive. Read the manual. Flashing bios is in there. I love GB flash utility built into the bios. If the bios doesn't support the cpu, pay a store for flashing the bios.

well you know me so well. As a father of 4, yah i worry a bunch.

But I am not really worried about this issue. I just want to be prepared for when parts get here I will have all the required info/resources to do the job correctly. Thank you for the info. How would I know bios won't support the cpu? Trial and error? or is there some indication that bios level that the board has, ie a label? I am researching things now and it looks like i need F4 bios release to support the e7200 processor. If the board is shipped with a lower bios, can I upgrade the bios my self, or do I have to take it to a store? if so what do I bring? The whole pc put together, or just the board? I live in the Seattle area. Any suggestions on places that upgrade bios's?

take the system you are on now, go to what ever manufacturers mobo sight you end up choosing and get the latest bios, copy the .rom file to your flash drive and you can update the bios the very first boot, that is what i did on both machines in my sig, very easy
