P4 3.0c Temps

just was wondering what the trmps for these CPU's normaly run i nstalled mine in a asus p4c800 deluxe motherboard it runs relly well but the temps are awful hihg to me it seems at an idle the temps are
mobo idle 27c/80f
CPU idle 33c/91f

the i play commandos 2 and temps start to spike
Load temps are
mobo 30c/86f
CPU 48c/118f

the temps seem really high to me is this the norm for this CPU?
any help would be greatly appreciated

Maximum temp for a 3.0c is 70 celsius, so I'd say you're perfectly fine.

ok i just did a game of commandos 2 and the CPU peaked at 51c/123f but motherboard stayed at 30c/86f and this isnt even a graphic intense game can any one reccomened a case or way to drop the temps on this cpu im running the stock intel HSF and I have a cheap raidmax astro286 case any recomedations are very welcome excuse me for this is my 1st build from total scratch

Hi DZ1,

Your temps look fine to me my P4 usually runs around 48C under full load. It doesnt matter if a game is graphic intensive or not its if it is CPU intensive for temps. Believe it or not the program that always seems to heat my chip up the most even more than Prime95 is Starcraft. If I was you I wouldnt invest any money into additional cooling or a new case. Your case temps look good to me also mine run around 29-30C. After everything has been running awhile. Dont worry if your chip was overheating or having any signs of stress you would be getting lock ups.
