I just tried calling them to find out, but they've closed up for today. I'll call tomorrow and i'll be sure to post what I find out, however I doubt that they could HAVE it so quickly before every other store (excluding MyInfinity) even lists it. All I want is to have it before Christmas, but that seems to be less likely everyday

Interesting note for you.... Not specifically about the P4G8X but one of its competitors. I called MSI in NJ yesterday about their GNB Max-FISR and the girl said that they have the componenets right now and are starting to mass assym them. They should be available for retail sale in 2 weeks she said. I hope so, Ive sold my brd, chip and ram out of this one that I have to deliver by next week.lofl (Looks like im gonna have to borrow my buddies comp for a week.lol)

Hopefully when the other vendors come on line there prices will be more inline with reality. $259 is ridiculous. At these prices I'll wait for the B&M guys to get them. Right about now Fry's isn't looking that bad.

If the guys charging the outrageos prices had an excellent resseller rating it might not be as bad. Now, I wonder when "MyInfinity" is going to deliver these boards. Someone said in another forum that they called and were told that that a delivery date is uncertain. Hmmmmm?

The people selling this mobos for $200 + are just playing on the hype of the chipset. Just like any new technology its only expensive for the first term of its life cycle then the price drops down fairly fast and levels off at a point.

Quite right.

Here in the UK we often pay up to 40% more for our PC hardware. For instance, an Asus P4PE-L costs 41% more (+$48), a Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra costs 23% more (+$29), a 2.8GHz P4 costs 31% more (+$116) and a 2.4B P4 costs 34% more (+$62).

With that huge UK rip-off factor in mind, Myinfinity charging $259 for a board that costs $229 in the UK is shocking.:Q

I predict that in a couple of days Myinfinity will change their ETA again - this time to something like 12/14. The joke is that they won't be getting boards any earlier than anyone else, they're just after all the pre-orders from the desperate people who are willing to pay well over the market price.

Unless you go AMD. NForce2 boards are kicking ass, with all the features on GB MB, but with $100 less.

Looks like my crystal balls were a bit foggy - the ETA actually changed to 12/13. Their ETA will change again I'm sure.

I cancelled my pre-order for the P4G8X Deluxe($199) with myinfinity. I ordered it around the 24th of November and got fed up with their marketting crap.I think all who are interested in GB mobos should now be willing to WAIT! I'm not going to play this "gouging" game with these vendors. The SIS655 looks extremely interesting, hmmm, and at this point it doesn't seem as if these mobos are going to hit the streets till the end of the year anyway, so maybe the best thing to do is let them release the mobos and wait for their prices to drop, and if they don't drop, check out what SIS has to offer! I don't think anyone here has been more on the edge of their chairs waiting for these mobos to hit the streets than me...screw 'em...I've waited this long, I can wait a few more weeks to see what ALL the players have to offer. IMHO, dual DDR266 support is going to have an extremely short life span as support for dual DDR333 becomes common place in just a few weeks.

To no suprise, PowerStartPC.com has pushed back their E.T.A. on the two P4G8X models to 12/15, but hasn't changed their prices from $192 & $215. Two more weeks of Christmas shopping left... i hope i see a GB board pop up before then...

 

These boards will never come out.
