p6t deluxe and ahci

I just flashed the bios on my p6t-deluxe to ver. 1102. Now when I enable ahci for my sata drive the system crashes every time just after the windows load bar appears in Vista x64. If I select "IDE Drive" in the bios instead the computer boots and seems to work fine but I'd prefer AHCI. Also, I've read that there is a ver. 1104 bios out there. Any ideas?

Sounds like you dont have the AHCI Driver installed. When you first installed windows, did you have the BIOS set to AHCI or IDE? If you had it set to IDE, you need to install the AHCI drivers in windows, then reboot and set AHCI in the bios. It should work after that

Thanks Tom, you were right. When I loaded Vista x64 I had it set for IDE in the Bios. I checked on Microsofts site and found instructions on how to load the AHCI drivers and now things seem to be working.
