Still trying to figure why they didn't build a base around the rift with tons of guns and such instead of waiting for the monsters to come to the cities to defend there but it is still a nice summer action flick.

There are many continential rifts and scientists don't know more about the ocean depths than outer space...

There are also rumors that if the 1st movie goes well... Godzilla himself may appear in the 2nd movie... :awe:

Saw it today. Every 5 minutes I am thinking. Tactical nuclear tipped missiles. We win.

To be fair in the last godzilla movie he was a pussy as all it took to take him out was some missiles from planes.

They said the first one took 6 days and destroyed 10 cities or so to take down using everything we had.

Hmmm are you sure as they only seemed to make a point that there was one rift but the robots were able to get to it and if they could build walls around the entire continents I doubt one small area would had been bad.

Godzilla is appearing in his own movie next year. There's really not much of an actual rumor of him appearing in #2, but GDT was asked about it and said he'd love to connect the two universes.

Saw the movie today with my 8 year old son. I thought it was pretty good, and he loved it.

Exactly what you would expect. Epic scenes, just enough human element, and "cheesy hero" stuff, as someone else mentioned.

That last "Godzilla" movie with Ferris Bueller as the main human character was basically a giant iguana. It is so abhorred by Godzilla fans and even Toho, that they removed the name from him and renamed him "Zilla". And in the 2004 movie Godzilla Final Wars, they had him face off with the real Godzilla and he got fried.

I thought even with a MOAB, that probably takes one of those kaiju down. But certainly a nuke would.

The narration at the beginning said that tanks and planes did bring the first one down, but it took awhile.

Plus with how quick they were, especially loved being underwater, it might had been a issue.

But detonating dozens of nukes over populated cities might not had been a good thing.

Absolutely retarded IMO. No idea how on EARTH this movie got a higher score than Man of Steel, which fell victim to the same fallacies.

Bad acting, WORST ASIAN ACCENT EVER, effects were good of course, but MY GOD they have so many terrible plot holes.

Why bother punching the things? Just either plasma cannon or slice them up. So many pointless attempts to fake tension by underpowering the suits.

Acting was just stupid. Too much whining about "ohhh, my brother died man" and generally terrible attempts at character development. 3/10 at best.

They mentioned there was a limited amount of shots for it.

I do admit I did find the "rocket punch" very stupid but did love the fire from the chest piece.

Saw it tonight. There are some rather massive holes in the plot and IMO most of the acting was not great, but it was a fun movie. Lots of great fighting and CGI.

Saw it in Imax. Liked it. Great animation, great visuals, fight scenes were choreographed very well. Story was a little bit patched together but obviously you don't walk into a movie whose basic concept is monsters vs. robots expecting a best actor/director academy award to come out of it.

WORST ASIAN ACCENT EVER

LOL so the japanese girl needs to work on her asian accent then?

Really liked the movie but just didn't understand why you would not use a sword from the beginning. Seems like a better idea then just punching.

maybe the first version of the gypsy did not have a sword make for it; only the 2nd rev that they make the sword for it.

"Limited" seemed like 15+ based on the Hong Kong fight. They lit that poor sucker up.

Sounds much more believable in real life. Just seemed incredibly forced. And made me want to rip my ears out. Sounded like "Ok guys, we need to make her sound SUPER ASIAN. Let's crank that accent up to 11."

That was the biggest thing that didn't make sense to me. Other than that I enjoyed the movie, it was new and different enough where I could forget a lot of the cheese. The visuals were exactly what I expected, and the storyline (while a bit huh at moments) was something I could appreciate.

the sword was the retro fit, so main guy never had it when he was fighting with his brother. it was added after the fact.

also if you have a plasma cannon thing in your hand, you'd use that > sword anyday.

Right.. BUT if building giant robots, my first thought would be to get a sword or a giant staff or SOMETHING from the get go.. Just nit picking, its the only thing that bothered me.

Anyone remember Robot Jox?

watched 3D.. 3D has come a long way..

Good brainless action movie with good special effects.
Ok acting.

Glad it ended without requiring a sequel to see the end..

I'm sure sequel will come out soon..
