What fresh ideas has Sarah Palin EVER brought to the table? None that I can recall. It all seemed to be rehashed crap from the past, dredged back up, but this time, with a folksy spin.

What fresh idea's does any politician have? Obama's economic plan is to rehash Keynsian economic policies from 70 years ago. You dont have to have "fresh" idea's to be successful as a politician. And as a fund raiser I could see her to be a bright spot for a republican party in a world of pain right now.
Yeah, 70 years that have given us the middle class, a level of wealth unprecendented, etc etc. How can we even think about continuing these policies?
Clearly we were much better off under the Republican policies of the last 8 years that rejected the policies of the last 70 years. And that worked out so great....?

You are old enough to remember the 1970s. It also gave us stagflation, run away inflation rates, and borrowing rates in the double digits.
Thanks to Nixon and Ford.

It's sad that she didn't have more Washington experience, and the media did their job in hitting her weak points pretty hard

BUT, she truly brought reform to Alaskan politics, which is more than anyone can say about our President

She had so damn many they did it with their eyes closed which is what I think McCain's people did when the vetted her and chose her to run as his VP.

How mavericky!....

She's gonna need more than the culture war to run on if she wants to win an actual national campaign. Half the country doesn't take too kindly to being called phony Americans. The Republican party would be crazy to nominate her. That would assure a Obama win in 2012. If they do, Leave it to the Republicans to double down on stupid.

Anyway, why are people still following Palin around if she is so unimportant?

Why do people watch the audition part of American Idol?

They watch to point and laugh at someone desperately and pathetically flailing, trying to accomplish something they clearly have neither the natural ability, nor the training to do. Sure sometimes you feel bad about making fun of them afterwards, but not bad enough to stop watching.

Tina Fey's got a contract with SNL for the near future then. God I hope she does stay in the spotlight-- it gives me a chance to see just how much of America is mentally retarded.

You are a tool, go away.

because she's an insult to anyone who has an iota of intelligence of course im going to be demeaning. it's pathetic that she got to run as VP for the USA

Can you seriously call yourself an american that wants the best for your country and support her?

I don't support Palin and don't relate to her ideas but you my friend have gone off the deep end with your hatred and rabid fanaticism. Agree or disagree ...... fine, but leave the personal attacks behind ...... you will much better be able to argue your points without them and have some credibility.

how did i go off the deep end? and what am i a rabid fanatic of? calling her a bitch may be harsh, but she's still lacking any presidential quality whatsoever.

I will laugh my head off if Palin flops in the GOP primaries of 2012. She is going to be running against many smarter Republicans who are going to unite together against her.

That is if the Alaska legislature does not get her for ethic charges first.

But its 2012 that Sarah seems to be taking dead aim at.

She will lose in the primaries in 2012. I think she will do decently in them, but will ultimately lose. The Republican party isn't stupid, they know what they have with her... someone who excites the base, but who is ultimately unelectable. She'll be a great campaign tool, I can totally see her in the Senate someday, but President? Everyone knows that's not going to happen after she embarrassed herself in 2008.

What if Jindal and Romney cancel each other out by getting 30% each of the semi-rational voting block? That leaves her the 40% who spend their afternoons writing letters pushing for ID to come in a swoop up the victory!

That could happen in Iowa and NH, but after those two camps will consolidate behind one of the candidates. Strategic voting unfortunately renders another hilarious presidential campaign unlikely.

Thanks to Nixon and Ford.

Well, let's not forget the massive debt we created financing an overseas war we should have had no part in......and then there was the spike in oil prices (and the oil drought that brought it on......)

Nixon and Ford were, without a doubt, fairly incompetent.......except Nixon and some of his foreign policy accomplishments...errrr, accomplishment.

Domestically, worthless.

Lived through it, remember it quite well. (Was standing outside the White House fence, facing the South Lawn, when Nixon took off in his last Air Force helicopter ride just after he resigned. I was just recently stationed in D.C. at the Army Material Command back then.....)

2012 pretty pretty please? Now before all you reflexive righties scream "let it go" or "stop bringing her up" just recognize for a second that she is keeping herself in the spotlight, is injecting herself into the political dialogue, and that she has no intention of going gently into that good night. She's fair game folks, like Joe the War Reporter. Old jokes are the best.

"..she is keeping herself in the spotlight"?

Seems more like the MSM is, for whatever reason

I don't know why a S.P. PAC should be big news. There are literally thousands of PACs, seems like most politicians have one.

This I find curious:

Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee

Is she even involved with it, or this an effort to raise political contributions on her name?

Or, is this a normal disclaimer because politicians can't be directly involved in PACs?

Anyway, they are just fund-raising instruments. Seems normal to try to raise money for the GOP using her name.

BTW: I really don't see her winning the 2012 primary. I would expect her to run if only to try for an appointment or cabinet seat etc. If re-elected in 2010 she could only serve till 2014 (two term limit), so she'll be needing another job around then.

That's true. When she was nominated she was past the primaries. God willing they would easily separate from her in them, but who knows.

This was not the case with Romney, but there was speculation that him being a Mormon led some voters to pick another anti-McCain even though Romney was the clear frontrunner among them. It would be up to Jindal then, but who knows if him being an Indian would cause the same effect and so they both can't get enough to overcome the other to appear as a front runner. Then there is this third option, Palin, who is white and Protestant and very conservative. I can see it happening, I doubt it though and she would surely get crushed in a general election.

Those who would dismiss Palin as unelectable have no sense of history. I remember the idiot Reagan, who was a crappy governor, and thinking there was no way he could be elected president.
When they ran GWB for president, I was scared of what would happen, and it did happen.

Democrats need to destroy her now, before she gets some momentum going.

But But But we though we did, and now like some foul vampire she rises up like a frozen corpse. What to do now for plan B, maybe a wooden stake, garlic, a cross, or do we do the voodoo thing, or maybe a witch doctor is called for.

Or maybe us democrats need her to build moment so she can hang herself.

There was a great article about this type of situation way back during the primary.

Mike Huckabee is a perfect example of this.

Because of the way our system works it is very possible that the person who wins is actually the person least acceptable to the most voters.
