This is a brand new modle with DVI inputs. PT-47WX54

The killer part is Costco has a really nice return policy since... I figure if the the thing breaks down 4 years from now I could still return it for a new one... And that makes this a HOT DEAL!!!! Try doing that with best buy or sears...

And yes you have to truck this thing yourself but since I already own a pickup it was not a big deal for me.

Local magic? Web site doesn't suggest Costco carries ANY Panasonic TV's, let alone a 47" one.

Seems like a good deal. Looks like this was it's predecessor: Panasonic Linky

Anyone heard good things about Panasonic??

Mitsubishi is usually the only brand I hear great things about.

I have this TV and it is very good. Haven't used the DVI yet but I have used the Component monster cables with it and gives a great pic. Sound seems better than a lot of TVs I have seen.

Exactly, because the Costco website shows every single item you can find in the B&M stores..

It's nationwide, but not all of them have them in stock right now.

As it is, I was at the Torrance, CA Costco today and they not only had them in stock, there was a working display set up. Looks exactly like the WX53, which I have. Very, very nice TV and a killer deal at this price.

I've had my 51" Panasonic HDTV for over 2 years now. It's pretty average for resolution (800 lines), but comparable to other HDTVs in the same price range. The brightness and color are great and 480p/1080i HDTV looks very nice. The noise reduction feature is awesome for analog sources and really cleans up the image since flaws are greatly magnified on large screens (cable, VHS, etc).

I'm not going to upgrade it anytime soon, but I wouldn't mind buying another Panasonic based on the experience I have with the current one.

My brother has the PT47WX53 and it also works well.

picked this up a couple days ago- is great for the price.

53 vs 54 is simply the model year change (03 to 04) with no product change. Picked mine up from the Sunnyvale (CA) Costco- should be nationwide.

Remember- no delivery, so come with a truck and a couple friends.

Here's some info off avsforum:

This is from Panasonic press release Jan. 09 2004
http://www.panasonic.com/consumer_e...=12&cont_id=585

"The PT-47X54 and PT-53X54 boast a new cosmetic design that makes them an attractive part of any home theater. Their 1080i/540p monitors, new HD chassis, with auto convergence and sharpness and digital noise reduction, give them beautiful video rendering capabilities. Both include HDMI inputs, two HD component inputs, four A/V inputs (one in front), and three S-video inputs (one in front). They each have new motion adaptive 3D digital comb filters, the first surface glass mirror, and 30 watts of total output with the BBE® High Definition Sound System with fixed and variable audio output."

Its a Monitor so that means you will have to buy a HDTV Tuner. But definitly a good deal. Now how do I convince my fiance to let me buy it.

from Costco.com
"Costco.com offers merchandise which complements our warehouse product selection. Therefore, most items available on our web site are unique to costco.com"

and perhaps vice-versa

A great deal. I'm not in the market (I have a 57" HD Toshiba) but if I were I'd definitely consider this.
