Maybe you should hold off on your musical criticism until the body is cold? I'm just thinking out loud here...

wait, why are we showing respect to Pantera? they were a pointless hair band that burned out in the late 80's, weren't they?
If your going say something like that perhaps you should look it up first.

They made good music, even if you didn't like it. Have you ever head it, or are you as ignorant there too?
They supported the community.
The guitarist was murdered in cold blood.
They didn't burn out in the 80s, and I wouldn't classify them as a hair band at all.

Do you really need more reasons to at least show respect?

Hell they peaked in popularity in the mid nineties. So to call them an 80's hair band is silly.

"On March 21, 1994 a name unfamiliar to many weekly readers of Billboard appeared at number one on that week's chart of the top 200 best-selling albums. The name was Pantera and the album attached to it, Far Beyond Driven, their third, had shattered all expectations."

"The numbers speak for themselves. Their latest opus, The Great Southern Trendkill, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart giving even Metallica a run for their money."

Dimebag and Darrell did have a hair band group in the 80's. Even Ozzy had a hairband sound to some of his 80's albums at times. Cowboys from Hell was their first major record label release.

Very true but that certainly doesn't mean Pantera was an 80's hair band

exactly
the last album release was in 2000 aand IMO "Reinventing The Steel" was pretty damn good

"The Best Of - Far Beyond The Great Southern Cowboys` Vulgar Hits" - which is basically a greatest hits CD came out in 2003, if your new to pantera just buy it, it freeking rocks also

seriously. Pantera is a band you'll like if you're only into that type of music.

I never got into Pantera, but they were pretty good when i listened to them.

I feel the same way.
