Well for one you should show some respect because the poor man was shot to death on stage by some idiot...and for another they broke up after the 80's maybe around 2000 or so? And Darrel Abbott was an amazing guitar player...this was a guy that inspired many heavery rockers out there and at thew age of 16 was banned from playing at guitar competitions because he was so good and would win them all...also the things he and his brother did for the community (arlingtion TX) like a huge haunted house on halloween....so yea i think we should be showing some respect.....has done a hell of a lot more to deserver it than most.

*shrug* okay. pantera's not for everyone. But for what they do, they do very well. Very few bands can convey such raw emotion in a song. I personally feel that pantera is great pump-up music; it really gets the blood flowing, but then again, I like intense music. I understand completely if they're not your cup of tea. What I fail to see, however, is why you felt the need to post such a topic, which serves no good cause other than incite flames from presumably close-minded Pantera fans.

They broke up well after 2000. I saw them in 2001 I believe on Ozzfest (2nd time I saw them). Just fvcking crazy live. They were so good that the crowd (50,000+) was completely drained when Ozzy came on afterwards.

 

I remember when Phil Anselmo overdosed on heroin (didn't die) and nobody cared. MTV didn't even report on it so Phil wrote them an angry letter saying he was addicted to intervienous drugs and how MTV were pricks for not reporting it. Kurt Loader totally read the letter tounge-in-cheek mocking Phil. What an attention whore. They should have shot Phil.

Kurt Loader sucks. Period. "MTV" sucks. They don't even play music. It is one big reality channel (yes I know there is MTV2).

Phil is an attention whore? How many times do you see him say anything? Current rap and pop stars are the attention whores.

They made good music, even if you didn't like it. Have you ever head it, or are you as ignorant there too?
They supported the community.
The guitarist was murdered in cold blood.
They didn't burn out in the 80s, and I wouldn't classify them as a hair band at all.
