Just keep up the good work and keep getting stronger. Are you actually planning on doing weight class competition? If not, don't sweat the scale as long as you look, feel, and perform better.

Thanks! I'm not sure if I plan on doing any weight class comps. I kind of figured I'd see how mma works out, if I'm any good at it I would like to fight at 205 so I'd need to walk around at 215-220 to make weight without killing myself. I've actually decided that my lifting goals are to not lose any strength while I drop down to my weight goal. From there I'll work on getting stronger but not heavier.

Legit. You may also want to give Oly lifting a try given that your squat's pretty good.

A strength biased version of Crossfit like CF football will probably help you drop weight nicely and get more conditioned for MMA while maintaining strength. I dropped about 50# with that kinda gig while getting stronger.

Time to eat like a madman now that I'm back doing linear progression.

just did mma tonight, my arm is still bothering me I may pass up the gym this weekend and not roll again till Tuesday to give it some time to heal. Weight at the gym was still 233... I guess I'll just stop worrying about it and see where it goes from here.

Well it seems that taking the weekend off helped my arm quite a bit. I didn't have any pain at all during MMA last night but it was a shorter night. I also talked to the personal trainers there the guy seemed really cool and said he'd do it for the same price as the membership to the gym so I figure I'll do just do it. I'll probably get back to lifting later this week, next week I'll be back at it for sure.

did another few hours of mma tonight, I skipped the gym yet again. I really haven't been feeling lifting lately, I'm sure I'll get back into it next week especially with the new gym and trainer and all.

Panty, we should compete.

Every month we post our progress and see who the winnar is. We have similar goals since I intend to lose the fat and get stronger at the same time.

I haven't been feeling the lifting lately either. I'm a brain dead construction worker though which absolutely ruins my ability to recover and have energy at the gym.

Just so everyone knows, college was a waste of my time.

We could do something along those lines, it might help me stay motivated. My goals have changed a little though as will my routine. But if you want to compare gains/weight loss monthly I'd be ok with that.

That really sucks. I just sit on my ass all day long in front of a computer and have no motivation, I'm not sure what happened but this last week has been bad.

Got back in the swing of things last night with MMA, felt much better and much more motivated than last week. Didn't end up lifting because I didn't get ahold of the guy before hand which turned out to be a good thing because I was beat after training.

Did MMA the last 2 nights getting quite a bit better at it and I'm learning more everyday. I did hurt my arm, yet again. I don't know what happened or why it gets injured so bad I'm thinking it might be time to get an MRI jsut to make sure I didn't hurt something in there worse than I originally thought.

Been keeping up with MMA 3 days a week no real point of updating this every day with the same thing. Guy never showed up for lifting so I'm probably going to sign up at my old gym.

figured it was time for an update... Still donig MMA 3 nights a week sitting at 230 at the end of the day, so I'm probably 225ish(based on previous numbers) looking much more lean. I decided to give up on the guy at the MMA gym for lifting and after the tattoo I'm getting Thursday heals up I'm going to sign up at my old gym for another year and get back into that. I miss lifting, but I don't think I've lost much, if any strength thanks to MMA we'll see though.

broke my toe tonight, and that shit hurts. Worst part is it was about 10 min into training. a big dude, like 6'5" 280ish dropped his knee on my toe on accident while going for a double leg take down. I heard it pop but I tried to keep going anyway but that failed pretty miserably and about 20 min into training I decided that is wasn't worth it to try to press on. It's feeling better after keeping my weight off it and taking a lortab. Hopefully it's feeling better in the next day or 2 I don't want to miss too many sessions. And going back to the gym next Tuesday, lets see how much strength I've lost in the last month and a half of being out of the gym...

slight update. My toe still hurts like a bitch, but I don't think it's broken I was finally able to get back to MMA tonight just taking it easy. I was going to sign up for the gym again today too but putting too much weight on my right foot kills that toe so I thought it was pointless to sign up and not get anything out of it for a few weeks. Also I'm about to get health insurance from work, hopefully, finally and it's supposed to pay for most/all of a gym membership so I might be able to save myself a few hundred dollars if I wait it out a week or so longer. My weight is at 237 as of tonight before mma and I don't feel like I've lost much strength but I don't feel nearly as strong when I'm rolling anymore, maybe they're just not going easy on me anymore.

That weight is after taking about 2 weeks off. I was off a week after my tattoo and a week for my toe, I should be back down to ~225 shortly, then slowly working to 215.

You're not really working out anymore?

I am slowly moving above 255 bench.

I'm still working out, just not lifting. I let my gym membership expire because I was supposed to lift at my MMA gym but the lifting coach or whatever was really flakely and never showed up so I wasn't able to lift. I should be back in the gym lifting in the next week or 2 depending on my foot. Right now even jumping hurts so I know there's no way I could squat, dead lift or OH press which is 70% of my gym routine. I seriously doubt I've lost much, if any, strength MMA is pushing me hard. I might take a week to get back in the swing of things after over a month out of the gym.

My gym is $15/ month lol... I would let it run even if I moved out of Country.

Mine isn't too bad between MMA and the gym it's about 100/mo. Money wasn't the issue, time and conveience were. I would have been willing to pay more to lift at the MMA gym but that doesn't seem to be a reliable option at this point.

finally signed up for a new 'big box' gym that is going to be opening up in the next few weeks. I decided to go with them for a few reasons but mostly because they're open 24/7 and they have bumper plates and rubber floors and are completely ok with me dropping weights. As much as I liked my old gym this was about the same price and much more convenient. Should have my lift log updates starting again soon, really this time. I've still been doing MMA and kept my weight at about 230. Hopefully I haven't lost too much strength in the time off the gym.

After too much waiting around I finalyl made it into the gym last night. ddin't do a whole lot, just wanted to get a good idea of where I was. I lost a lot of my leg strength, or at least endurance, I was able to do...

Bench: 135x5, 185x5x5
Squat: 135x5, 225x2x5, 315x4x5

That was all, my legs were shaky and they're still pretty sore when I stand up or going down stairs. I know this is only temporary and I'll be back to normal before I know it.

Squats: 225x1x5,315x5x5
OH Press: 135x1x5, 95x5x5
Dead Lift: 225x1x5, 315x2x5, 225x2x5
Chin ups: 3, 2.5, 2.5

Felt much better today, squats were a little rough. Deads were fine, my grip sucks again thats why I did the 2 extra sets of 225. Almost forgot how good it feels to be in the gym...

Squats: 225x4x10
Bench: 135x10, 155x3x10 185x5
push ups: 0
lat pulldowns:120x10, 150x5, 120x10, 150x5
reverse crunches: 3x15

I was trying not to burn myself out too bad today so I lifted more reps at lighter weight. Not really sure if it helped or not. MMA killed me after the fact I managed to do the full 2 hours but I was hurting pretty bad by the end. I really need to get up earlier and get to the gym before work. Feeling pretty good over all.

Weight: 245

Don't have my exact Thursday numbers because I was in the process of moving and didn't have an internet connection but it was similar to the lifts before. I skipped Saturday because I was moving. I ended up lifting yesterday rather than today so I'm not sore/weak in MMA.

Squats: 225x5, 315x5x5
DL: 225x5, 315x6, 225x10, 225x5
OH press:115x5x5
Lat pulldowns: 130x10x3
prone bridges: 3X60 sec

Felt pretty good, 315 was feeling a little heavy again, going to add weight next time I'm in, either Wednesday or Thursday. Feels good getting abck into it, now I just need to clean up my diet a little. Today at the dr my bp was 135/68 and weight was upto 248. going to the store in the next few days to pick up some more healthy food because I've obviously been slacking lately. MMA tonight, can't wait...
