Partition error ! Help !

Greetings,

Partition Magic says that my laptop primary partition starts in sector 2 when it is supposed to start in sector 1 so it will not create another partition for me.

I am trying to create another partition on the drive so I can backup (with Ghost) an image of the primary partition to the 2nd partition.

Can I fdisk /mbr to fix this problem or do I have to fdisk, format and reinstall everything ? Are there any other solutions ?

I doubt fdisk/mbr will fix it!
have you checked on powerquest's website on how, if possible, to resolve this error?

I think fdisk /mbr is worth a try...
