The trailer doesn't do this movie justice at all. The trailer just shows all the cheap stupid stuff. The real good stuff of this movie are the vulgar moments(gay jokes), cameos, San Diego Comic Con, nerd culture, references to lots of classic sci-fi/Spielberg references...
When I saw the trailer, I was disappointed. I saw a matinee AM showing w/ my dad, and both of us really enjoyed the movie. My dad, with his vulgar humor, enjoyed it for its cheesy, yet brain-turned-off-feel-good story. Then again, I wasn't really expecting much. (but also.. then again... it does have decent reveiws:

I recommend the movie. I love it how it shows off our Americana culture (road-trip through the beautiful west, geek culture, albeit through British eyes), and does it in a humorous, nerdy way. It kind of makes me proud how the US is still the frontrunner in the global culture (nerd/pop/road-trip/..all american products haha ), and this movie shows that. This forum is big on sci-fi, and this movie is a great homage to sci-fi, with plenty of vulgar jokes in it. Simon Pegg does a nerd rather well.. rofl. I think he's a bit underrated as an actor.
It's a great buddy movie.
