I have my bank account tied straight into my paypal card. When I send funds to someone through paypal It automaticly withdraws money from my bank account with no wait period. Does anyone know what happens If I use the debit card as a credit card when I hold no balance? Does it still auto withdraw from my bank, or would it fail? The reason I ask is that I get 1.5% cashback on paypal purchases using the debit card.

I thought that anytime you use up your paypal balance, choose not to fund the difference with a cc, and then choose your bank account it sent an e-check which took a few days to clear.

It would fail, you need to initiate a fund transfer from your bank account to your paypal account, then use it.

Only way to tell is to go to the ATM when you have no balance in your PP account and try to w/draw money. :light:

Mines tied into my checking account, so its instant to pull funds from my bank. Way way way better then e-check.

I think you're misguided, there is no "instant pull" option on paypal that I know of. e-check is the same as "being tied to" an account.

Schnope, its instant. As soon as i send funds to someone regardless of account balance, they get it instantly. Also, the e-check carries a small fee, where instant is no fee.

How do I add funds to my PayPal account?

If you have a confirmed bank account, you can add funds to your PayPal account via electronic funds transfer. Show me After you initiate an electronic funds transfer, the funds will become available in your PayPal account within 3-4 business days. You will receive an email confirmation every time you add funds to your account. Note that if you do not wish to add funds to your PayPal account, you may send a PayPal payment using a credit card or Instant (bank account) Transfer.

---

I removed my checking account info from paypal a long time ago, but it looks like there is an "instant" bank xfer option.

Well, it's either tied to your ATM card, in which case it's really a visa/mastercard transaction. Either than or the dollar amounts you transfer are within your "trusted limit" established by your monthly transaction volume, etc.

There is no "carte-blanche" option for bank accounts, it just doesn't exist.

Hmmm.. still doesnt say if I can use the debit card as the instant transfer. I've never "added funds" because its pointless for me to hold a balance with all the instantness.

My "trusted limit" is 3,000 dollars a day. I dont think I'll ever need to instant transfer more then that. But I already know I can do it online. Still no words anywhere that say I can use my paypal debit card without any account balance. I'm thinking yes, but who knows.

Perhaps string theory would answer your question.
