Thanks CurseTheSky, It's written in ASP.NET with C# codebehind unfortunately. I can manage most of the requests for now, the search will get an overhaul very soon.

I will look into the XHTML errors, I don't always check that before updating

I don't suppose you could add a section on each game listing what DRM it has? I have yet to find a website that lists general DRM for games.

I'll be considering at least listing what DRM games have, not sure if it will become a standard though.

Site update, I've changed the main search function on the front page to use a full text index, it uses a a natural language search which improves on the old search which was strict.

Before searching "half life" had no results because the game is listed as "half-life" but now you get all the relevant results.

Another example is "Devil May Cry 4" will be found even if you search "Cry Devil May"

I've added patch links now, just quickly tagged this onto the code and went through the database and updated all the games to catch up.

All the patches so far go to gamershell.com because they offer registration free downloads on some really fast servers, theres also no queuing unless all server are full, which is rare

Nice addition with the patches.

Something that bothers me...I don't see a "list all" option or a "View A-C | D-F" link. At first glance you would think only the select few on the homepage are in the DB, and people would have no idea what other games are in it without hitting the search function.

Might want to add a "list all games" link to the header nav, or even link the dynamic text "37 games" in the Welcome section.

Well, I didn't get time to add games tonight, I was distracted making my new forums, they are open for registration at the top of the page. The primary reason for the forums will be some functionality I intend to build in which is essentially like what the WideScreenGamingForum do which is have official threads for each game and let users list additional information about the game or have more in depth reports.

You can also post feedback without registration (for now, as long as it remains relatively asshat free )

I've also tweaked the search, if you leave it blank and click go, you'll get all the games in the entire database.

A quick bump to say that the site is now on dedicated hosting and I hope that it's much quicker for everyone

There might be a few bugs, I was up until 1:30am smoothing it all out last night, so I hope I didn't miss anything but you never know, let me know if you spot any errors or have any other suggestions.

I feel the site is reaching a point where I can really push it out to a wider audience now, so far I've only been giving out details to a select few forums. So if anyone wants to pass on the word in any way they can that would be appreciated.

1. You can't leave it blank and click go, you have to click in the search field to auto-clear the text "Search..." first.

2. When you get all results, please have them appear alphabetically.

3. On homepage, need to do something about the default list. How do you have it set now? Doesn't seem like there's any reason for the ones that are showing up. Might want to have it so that the most clicked on games appear, most recent additions, or alphabetically.

3) default list is the top 20ish games which have been updated last, having them set as the most viewed is probably a bit backwards since the most viewed are those likle to be on the front page to start with

1) For people that know, it's easy. For newcomers, they might find it on accident, but doubtful. Just throw in a "View All" button.

2) sweet.

3) That's cool, just put a title above the table like "Most recent additions." My concern was pretty much that they just look like a haphazard jumble.

Just some quick updates from the last week or so.

[*]Forums have been styled and registration fixed
[*]News items on the front page now link directly to the right news item
[*]The news page itself has had an overhaul and has an index made for easier browsing
[*]New blog post, if you have a spare minute a comment wouldn't go astray
[*]Loads of minor tweaks, some differences between FF and IE solved
[*]Some games added, some tweaked for corrections and updates


The more important news is that the site even though it's very young is drawing some attention from other members of the gaming community, as well as increased traffic in general I've also featured on NVnews and Rage3d news sections.

I've also had feedback directly from a game developer which I didn't think would happen for at least 6 months or so, this proves the site can be a force for good, I've also had EVGA follow my twitter account which is interesting.

I really feel like the ball is really starting to get rolling, thank again everyone who has given feedback, added games, sent in corrections and suggestions for the site

A very quick update, the site had its first recorded live visit on August the 4th which means it's now 2 months old today, I've been keeping an eye on my stats and this morning it's broken the 10,000 views milestone I set for myself. Thanks for everyone who has taken the time to visit and give me feedback and suggestions for the website, I read them all and have a big update in the works to bring you some of the most requested features.

Just a quick thread necro to say that the site is a year old now, after a long period of no updates I've started adding some games again, we're at 100 now and I will be adding more over the coming weeks.

As always let me know of any suggestions, if you have some games you can add the info for then let me know on the forums, im currently fixing a bug with the sites feedback system.

I could add a game, but I don't know the exact fix (it's a driver hack). Maybe it'll show up on here sometime.
