pc wont boot up

everytime i on the power button. the psu runs for like 7-8 secs. then dies off.
this repeats for a few times. after that. the psu just keeps running. with no display. there is no beeping sound whatsoever. i took out both my rams and it reacts the same way.

is it safe to say that my motherboard is screwed?! or is it the psu.
how do i determine which is the faulty part?

BTW, your computer won't post at all with "both rams" removed.

Yeah i know it wont post. I just thought it may be the mobo's fault cause it didnt beep upon detecting no rams.

Pull the video card and all ad-on cards as well and see if it beeps.

i tried all these scenarios.

hdds out - no beeping sound. psu runs and dies off randomly. (repeats)
rams out - no beeping sound. psu runs and dies off as usual. (repeats)
gfx out - no beeping sound. psu runs and dies off as usual. (repeats)

now when i plug out the pci-e power supply from the gfx. there is non-stop beeping sound.

i really cant figure out which is the faulty part. please help. thanks!!

The non-stop beeping sound is the mobo saying "hey I got no VGA wtf"

Uninstall EVERYthing. Install only Power and CPU. You should get POSt errors. Install your RAM (in the correct slots) and you should get POST errors but different. Install the VGA and see if it errors out or you get video..

see what fails during this process. There are different beeps depending on what the mobo is failing on.

if psu runs and dies off randomly then it might not a VGA problem.may be mobo/psu/cpu issue.i also faced similar problem and it was for my faulty cpu fan..

. after that. the psu just keeps running. with no display. there is no beeping sound whatsoever.

when it happened to me all the fans were too loud...

Three possible causes:

1. overheating CPU - make sure the heatsink is properly fitted and that the fan is working.
2. shorting motherboard - take it out of the case and try to boot with it on a wooden table.
3. faulty or underpowered power supply - try another known-good power supply with plenty of power.

Since it beeps when the video card isn't powered, the CPU and motherboard are fine.

oh i forgot to add. this problem has been ongoing for like a year already. in the past. i just leave it on and it will boot up after maybe an hour. but now it wont.

why is it that when i remove the card there is no beeping sound. only when i remove the power supply then there is?

why doesnt it beep when i remove the rams or hdds?

my cpu fan is running fine and properly secured.

will remove everything and just run the cpu next time. and sorry for all these noob questions. first time trying to troubleshoot. thanks for all the input so far.
