Pentium Question..

Can someone please tell me what's the different between a Pentium III 800e and and other version of Pentium III? Does the "e" at the end of 800e mean that that processor is a coppermine? I also see other intel processors with a different letter other than "e", such as "eb" and "b". What is it mean? And what's are the differences? It would be great if someone list all of the version and explain the differences (or if there is a link)?

Yes, the "E" means Coppermine, but it is unnecessary on the 800 because they are all Coppermine from 650Mhz on up. "B" means it is a 133Mhz part.

I think "e" means flip-chip package, and "b" means 133 MHz FSB. AFAIK there are no other letters that might follow other than SECC2, which means it is a slot (cartridge) package.

Ok, here is is:

PIII 500 is a katmai core CPU on a 100Mhz FSB with 512K L2 cache at 1/2 core speed (0.25u)
PIII 500E is a Cumine core CPU on a 100Mhz FSB with 256K L2 cache at full core speed (0.18u)
PIII 533EB is a Cumine core CPU on a 133Mhz FSB with 256K L2 cache at full core speed (0.18u)
PIII 533B is a katmai core CPU on a 133Mhz FSB 512K L2 cache at 1/2 core speed (0.25u)

These are the low end CPU's but the system follows though. Note that there are no katmai core CPU's over 600Mhz so they drop the E as they are all Cumine. There are also no 100Mhz FSB PIII's over 850Mhz so they drop the B after 800Mhz.
