People CLEAN your Video Cards FAN !!!!!!!!!

Well I did not clean my GF2ultra for over a year, and today, my PC screen froze, and the image broke into little segments.. WHen I rebooted, motherboard started to beep(asus a7a) ... WHen I learned it ment there was a problem with a video card, first I though its DEAD. I took it out, and saw a lot of dirt around the gpu Fan.. I cleaned it and it worked.. I think the dirt was preventing the fan to spin efficiently, and the gpu was overheating .... So people CLEAN your Cards..


Oh if you can install Filters on your case Fans.. I will do this.. Dust can kill your PC, + it looks bad when your Kick Ass PC has Dirty AZZ .........

Yeah; I've seens some small fans so caked in dust that they could hardly spin at all. The fact that they had all these weird scent things burning in the house, and they smoked. Ick.

It's a good idea to clean your rig's innerds once a month.

lol more like once a year, or everytime you add a new component. Honestly unless you leave them on all the time probably once every 2 years.

yea.. smoking around a computer kills them!!! i work on them for a living and damn everytime someone brings one they are smoking i dread taking the case off... defiatnly clean more often if u smoke.. esp the fans and vent areas.... or u going to pay for it later....

Yeah. Not sure if it was dust, but my GPU fan was dead when I put in my new hard drive yesterday. Not sure if it was the dust that broke it, but it was caked in dust :disgust:
