This is perhaps the most assanine thing I've ever read. How could anyone be stupid enough to think this is somehow anything other than shoving your own personal beliefs down someone elses throats. It's one thing to not take birth control for reasons of personal morality. But to refuse a legal prescription to SOMEONE else ought to be a crime.

This from the same people who are so anti-gun control and pro individual rights and responsibility. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I don't know what to say besides agreeing with you 100%.

Did anybody else see how the Imax theaters are not showing a movie because of references to evolution in it?

With that said, it seems like Christians will do anything they can to keep any non-religious beliefs out of peoples eyes. But if something like, lets say the 10 commandments at a courthouse are being requested to be removed they throw a hissy fit.

I thought freedom was suppose to work both ways. Athiests have to respect Christian beliefs, but for the Christians, to hell with everybody else!

Don't confuse these extremists with your normal Christians.

Sorry, I really don't mean to generalize. From my perspective, these extremists just so happen to be the majority. But then again, you are not going to here about any non-extremist Christians in the news.

Stuff like this just aggrivates the crap out of me.

I think its safe to say there are two very opposing types of Republicans now. The religous conservative that believes in a big conservative government and the traditional republican that still belives in personal liberty and small government. Lets hope the latter wrestles control of the party back.

So go get it fvcking filled somewhere else. I know of a million drug stores. If one stopped filling prescriptions for birth control, I'd avoid it even if I needed a chocolate bar.

Sorry Skoorb read the article... These pharmacists have also been refusing to transfer the prescriptions. And when you're talking a 72 hour deadline... just going to another pharmacy isn't always so straight forward.

Especially if you're in Hell Hole Utah where there might only be one drug store (or one Smiley Mart) for miles.

No, these are the things they put in the news. Wonder why that is? Is this really newsworthy or is it that people like to read about such things so they can shake their fists and scream about christians trying to force their views on others.

For all we know there could be 50,000 christian pharmacists filling prescriptions everyday and not doing anything but their job.

I think that one of the things we are seeing is a pendulum swing by Christians against years of liberals shoving their so called rights down their throats. Sort of a natural human reaction and it is interesting that the grousing from the left is worse than it was from the right. My personal belief is that both sides are nuts!

Exactly. This story is inherantly stupid (and a repost, I believe) and so are the pharmacists in question - but using this or any other extremist, "news-worthy" story as a means to generalize a population is even more stupid.

My wife (uses the pill), her doctor, and her pharmacist are all Christian and the issue has never even been brought up, much less debated. Where's our Washington Post story and subsequent P&N discussion?

Oh ACLU will make my money work on this sh!t

If something like this happened to me (especially if they keep the prescription), there'd be every single news station at that CVS that night.

Its their right, however I believe they should be required to post their restrictions on a sign somewhere.

In small towns tho, this is actually pretty frightening.

I'm in agreement, though I would extend a boycott to businesses that interacted with these pharmacies.

Big problem for employers tho.
How many people would preffer not do do somthing because fo their religious or political views?
Imagine what happens if a state or the federal gov't passes a law allowing this? as long as the Pharmasists in question are not independant contractor's you open an enormous can of worms.

I hope these wacko fundie Pharms don't like job security. Refusing a legal prescription is grounds for termination at many pharmacies. I hope these wackos get their asses fired.
