philips 713X TV cards - driver compatibility?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone who has a TV tuner card based on the Philips 713X knows the answer to this...

Multiple manufacturers are producing TV tuners based on the philips 713X. For example, MSI (TV@nywhere Plus) and Kworld (Terminator) both have cards based on this chip, and the cards look identical.

Since this is the case are, for example, Kworld drivers compatible with MSI drivers? If you have a Kworld card based on philips 713X can you use the MSI drivers for their philips 713X based card on the Kworld card?

I ask because I have a Kworld card. (Terminator) I've heard MSI is going to release Win XP 64-bit drivers for the MSI TV@anywhere Plus card.... But I have not heard that about Kworld.... So if the 32-bit drivers are compatible between the two manufacturers I'm thinking perhaps the 64-bit drivers will be as well.... Would be nice to know in case Kworld doesn't release 64-bit drivers.

There's a ton of differences you can design around the main chip. Connector arrangement and wiring to the main chip's various inputs, choice of tuner chip(s), remote control IR interface and microcontroller, FM radio capability, other misc switching and black magic.

In other words: No, when using the "wrong" driver, you won't get more than a random set of accidentally working features.
