Photo Software Recommendation Please

I normally work strictly in Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word all day never delving into any of the graphic programs, but a project came across my desk for something that I have never done. The project is called Photograph manipulation. There are 3 or 4 facial photographs in JPG format. They want the photographs changed such as: slightly larger cheeks, a bit more smiley, eyes a bit larger, perhaps a bit more cheek color or makeup. Nothing obscene, nothing weird or freaky. Just some very very mild touch ups that will look realistic. Can someone recommend a software program (cost is really no problem) that can do this.

The standard is adobe photoshop. The downside it is does take a little time to learn. I would recommend following tutorials from here:

You have to subscribe to the site to get total access, some of the tutorials are free to sample , but the cost is low, $25 for a month, and you then get access to the entire site not just the one category.


I would use a plugin called KPT goo, now sold by corel

Software's the easy part, using it will be a challenge. Good image manipulation is a real art, and unless you're a natural, it'll take time to get good results.

If this is a one time thing, it would probably be cheaper to contract out (versus the cost of your time and software).

That software really looked too good to be true.. Particularly at the price point .. ( $40 )

Photoshop Elements 10 is a great compromise. It has most of SC5's capabilites at a huge savings. I use CS5 but it is a chore to use and become proficient in. Even though I have MANY US dollars wrapped up in every version of Photoshop since version 2.0 ( which was a huge stack of floppy discs and several manuals) I have ordered Elements 10 for $90.
