ping inconsistency

After 6 months of no problems playing games like battlefield 2 and counterstrike on line with no lag, I have recently noticed that I have been being kicked for high average ping on battlefield 2 servers. My pings are all over the map, my rig is a top of the line overdrive pc overclocked monster. Nothing notable has changed in my setup or ISP recently, this has been going on for about 2 weeks now....

Most likely something with your ISP. You can call them, unlikely they will do anything about it (nor should they).

Not so fast. I had similar issues with my ISP a few years back (Mediacom). The result was something was borked with the physical line and parts had to be replaced in the box out on the street. We were recieving a signal strength way higher than what it was supposed to be.

To the OP, if your ISP is a cable company. When you have bad ping variations check to see if your TV signals come in blurry or abnormal.

Never hurts to pick up the phone and call rather than spend countless hours searching the intarweb.

Are you sure the servers are in the US? I hate when I am playing and keep on lagging and then the server title is "KURBACHEN LICHTEN BROTHEL".
Or when I am downloading full DVD rips of "Aroused Tranny 5"
