Definitely Pink Floyd. I think they have more of a timeless quality, whereas Zep more captures the essence of rock in a specific period.

'Cept Zep wasn't a rock band... They were more a blues band that got popular off a few rock hits. They did bridge the gap with a lot of their stuff, but that's part of what made them great.

What? Zep was def a rock band and it may sound like blues to you because well rock is blues based. They were even called heavy metal back when they came out and are credited in creating metal along with bands like Black Sabbath and Cream.

Stairway=greatest song ever
stairway is overrated.
9/10 tops.
true...one of the cleaner songs from zep if i should say...solo is very clean but not amazing...but if u really want good zeppelin, go get any of there live stuff...all the improv is amazing...thats how u know if a band is really good or not...a ton of modern day bands depend on studio production and sound like pure shat on stage.

LZ I is almost entirely a blues album. II was blues with a rock edge. III was an experimental, almost floyd-esque album. IV was mostly rock yeah, but still heavily influenced by blues.
They started with blues, they were influenced by all blues musicians, but had a few good hard rock songs that everyone knows. Go listen to the non-hits and see what I'm saying.
Just like the doors really...

Actually, Floyd hit their peak with 4 albums (IMO): DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. Their other albums are pretty good too. Also, The Wall is in NO WAY a "greatest hits" album, not sure what you're talking about It's a concept album...Originally posted by: edro13
I agree... Pink Floyd's only "great" albums were Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall (which was a greatest hits, basically).Originally posted by: Krk3561
Zep had amazing albums. Pink did too, but not on the level of Zeps.
Led Zeppelin's "greats" were:
I
II
III
IV
Houses of the Holy
The Song Remains the Same
