Yeah, yeah, Led Zep outright PLAGERIZED the old blues artists of the 20's and 30's. The most notable victim was Robert Johnson. They ripped him off word for word from a bunch of his songs. (I still voted for them, though)

However, Jimmy Page invented that deep, rough sound with the hard beat and pulsating rythms that made them famous. It was revolutionary for that era.

Have to give credit to Floyd too. They were WAAAAAAYYYYY ahead of their time. They were doing electronica 20 years before it was cool to play electronica. They were the zone-out drug music of the 60's-70's whereas acts like Orbital, FOSL, the Orb were the drug music of the 90's.

I agree... Pink Floyd's only "great" albums were Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall (which was a greatest hits, basically).

Led Zeppelin's "greats" were:

II
III
IV
Houses of the Holy
The Song Remains the Same

Also, look at the impact Led Zeppelin still has today. Stairway to Heaven is still considered the best classic rock song of all time... and their songs are used in numerous marketing campaigns (to target the retiring generation, probably).

true...one of the cleaner songs from zep if i should say...solo is very clean but not amazing...but if u really want good zeppelin, go get any of there live stuff...all the improv is amazing...thats how u know if a band is really good or not...a ton of modern day bands depend on studio production and sound like pure shat on stage.

Actually, Floyd hit their peak with 4 albums (IMO): DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. Their other albums are pretty good too. Also, The Wall is in NO WAY a "greatest hits" album, not sure what you're talking about It's a concept album...
