A. the dog is tiny even if it is a pit bull

B. the dude is clearly trying to bash the dog as hard as he can with that giant metal pole, and likely landed a few blows that were as vicious as anything the horse did

C. the dude seemed like he tried to have the dog run over by a separate horse drawn cart

Not to detract from how impressively violent the horse was, but this dog had no chance of surviving or inflicting any damage

Most real pits are 40-60lbs.

A horse kick would have been a multiple of that pipe blow.

I am sure that horse required stitches, the dog got him a few times it looked like.

size of dog <> fight, the american pit bull terrier regularly beats the larger Tosa Inu in dog fights.

The main thing that sets dogs like the Tosa and a real pit bull apart is they will not flee a fight even untrained.

It was odd cause the dog wasn't doing well even at the start and still kept coming. Then the horse just got pissed and went apeshit on it.

I think that's a donkey...not a horse. Still, it kicked the shit out of that dumb dog.

I didn't watch the movie, but it sounds more like a donkey or mule behavior. I read the wikipedia entry on the donkey awhile and one interesting piece was that donkeys are often used as a guard animals for livestock. Apparently wild donkeys don't really travel in close together herds like horses or many other herd animals. Because of this they aren't adapted to the "just run faster than the other guy and the predator will eat him instead" style of survival of horses. Instead, when they think they see a threat they tend to charge it biting and kicking the shit out of it because they don't expect any help to be coming.

Looked like a mule in the video. Hard to tell video quality not too good. Horses usually pick smaller animals up in their teeth, then strike with their front feet. We had one of our horses that we had to keep away from sheep and smaller calves 'cause she'd kill them if she could. Was not very good with dogs either. When we would send out the dogs to bring them into the corral, there was always some question as to who was going to be chasing who when they got there.

That was awesome. I didn't think a horse could be so badass. It almost looked like the horse was enjoying it after a while. Like it was playing with a chew toy or something.

I've seen a stallion pick up a 17 year old stable hand and throw her about 8foot through the air.

They can just go mental sometimes.

Never bring a dog to a horse fight.

But, dayum, that was disturbing to watch. And to whomever thought neck-breaking was a Predator move, most larger animals will try to kill/disable much smaller animals by bite-grabbing them on the back of their necks and shaking them as violently as they can to snap their spines.

Lastly, I also think that was a large mule and not a small horse.
