Ok,

I am at 165 and 412. One problem so far, USB crapped out. Since I use a USB mouse, that was a slight problem till I could find my ps2 adapter. Am benching mem and 3d mark now.

tried 170 - no go. No nothing at all. Well, fans spin and all, but no post - nada. So I backed her down to 167fsb/420ddr and all is fine, other than I do not have any usb at the moment. Since my wife has to use this puter as well, I'm gonna have to lower it back down. My printer/scandisk reader/mouse/scanner all need the USB, so PUCK!!! I am more than satisfied with this board. I new I could get this c1 to 3.0 and above. Could maybe do more, but for now I will stop. Granite Bay will definately show what I can do with it. I just hope Abit puts one out. If anyone has any ideas about the usb, let me know. I am gonna try and use the add on usb that they sent and see if it will work.

Way to go PJ! What's your vcore and vdimm set to when running 167? I run a USB mouse and need a USB port for my digicam, so I hope that little prob can be solved! Great job so far.

vcore is maxed at 15%, which makes it hover between 1.68 and 1.7. I am assuming that is safe... vdimm is at 2.7, which is also a max on this board.

Go figure! My usb problem is solved. I used the add-on card, and it all works fine. So looks like I can stay at 167fsb = 3.0gh!!! Who hooooooooo!!!!

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I had a similar USB problem when OC'ing a KT266A board last year. The 1.1 ports wouldn't work when you pushed the FSB up, but the USB 2.0 ports (on a bracket which plugged into the mobo USB header and took up a PCI slot) worked fine when OC'ing. Glad you got it worked out!

Edit: What are your temps at 3GHz?

Here is another twist. Not only did the add-on card work, but now the regular onboard usb ports work again. Oh well!

Nice work PJ. Lots of great info. Looks like you might be building a backup computer soon, eh? . I have my laptop from work and my wife uses my AMD computer. Just hook up a router/hub and you're good to go. The price you pay for getting caught up in Geekdom.

Yes, I almost have her talked into using an old pentium laptop that I have. All she does is e-mail and a little bit of surfing. My kids already have a puter in the basement, but I don't think she would take very well to me telling her to go downstairs all the time. I will have to find out if I can get a card that is compatable to put in this old lappy of mine!

Thanks for posting the temps, PJ! It's really amazing that you're able to keep the temps so low at that speed. I'm hoping I'll see some serious improvements when my Alpha arrives.

The temps on this board were higher than on my Asus P4PE, so I am not sure what to believe, other than I know it is running real schweet right now. Northbridge definately needs a fan. WIll do that tonight.
