xms 3500 has been fine on mine, but I have not been able to push it at all. I am way under specs.

BTW, processor voltage stability on the 8inxp is amazing. mbm reports the voltage as exactly that set in the bios. It really doesn't change under load. I had my doubts about this so measured the voltage on the back of the motherboard right under the processor (using a Fluke multimeter). With no apps running the voltage was 3mv high. You read that right, within .003V of the bios setting. Running two Prime95 torture tests (3.06@3.5ghz, hyperthreading enabled) only dropped the voltage by 5mv (.005V), or 2mv under the bios setting. Amazing! mbm does report the correct processor voltage. EasyTune4 reported the processor voltage as about 40mv high (and the other voltages slightly lower than mbm). I haven't yet checked the voltage with an oscilloscope to check noise levels.

I got mbm on and running. It definitely helps me see the voltages in a better light. Easytune always read them lower than they were.

Holy ! that one on ebay went for $610 and the other ones already at 510 there is a 3rd one with a starting bid of 230 something if you want to bid. I heard that Asus is coming out with a special edition black pearl P4pe, I wonder if they'll make a p4g8x version. Also at vr-zone.com they have a pic of a self contained frozen liquid cooler for the P4. Supposed to clip to the regular retaining bracket. If anyone has info on it please post.

That'll get rid of the beeping. Under voltages select Standard 4. Under temperatures set sensor 1 to 8712F-1 and set sensor 2 to 8712F-3 diode.

Hey BMG, thanks for the tip.

I just got mine today and I want to know which PCI slots share resources. I figured they probably all are sharing IRQ's however I want to put my sound card on one that is sharing the least amount of resources. I could not find it in the manual.

TIA for your help.

I can give you a little info about IRQ sharing. Since one of my 8inxp boards was bad I've currently only installed the 8inxp into my gaming rig. I have usb 2.0, serial ata and raid disabled in the bios. I have my adaptec 29160 scsi controller in slot 5, which shares interrupts with usb 24c7. pci slot 4 shares with usb 24c2. pci slot 3 doesn't share, so my SB Audigy is installed in slot 3. The 1394 controller on the Audigy (which is INTB on the card) shares with slot 4. I didn't try slot 2. Since I have usb2.0, sata and raid disabled I'm not sure where their interrupts would go.

This should get you started.

Any of you guys figure out what was holding you to 175 yet?

I am trying my system now but I seem to be stuck at 171, when my processor is good to 174. Just wondering if there's anything else I can try. Thanks!

BMG, I am using 8712F-1 to read my mobo temps and I have never seen it change from 25c. What sensor are you using to monitor your mobo temps?

Mine stays at 25C also. I wonder if the normal mobo temp sensor even exists. As I recall, the EasyTune4 also read 25C.

I posted a message in the MBM forum for Alex (the creator of MBM) to see what he says. I let you know when I get a response.

seems like if your gonna OC, you should have some better ram... pc3500 maybe. you wanna get good, quality stuff too as the OC will smack sh*t around a bit. the cheap stuff will cave...

pc2100 is perfect for the stock speeds of this board... but if you're gonna put the boots to it, get better stuff. corsair xms?... kingston at least.

I agree on the good ram but you won't have to go that fast. 2700 or 3200 max. That board won't see 400mhz fsb.

I bought kingston 2100 because at the time i bought it, they were saying that was the max supported speed or what not.... but anyways I might get some xms, probably another gig.

When I boot my PC I see "VRD Power Failure" on the initial boot screen. It appears right below the memory count. Any of you guys with the GA-8INXP get that?

i got that error too when i first installed my 8INXP -- then i gave it ( the little daughterboard thing) a little wiggle and on the next boot it said it was working in parallel -- could just be a fluke on my part though.

Someone needed it more than I did. I decided to wait for the SiS or the Next Intel chipset.
