Playing the lottery depresses me

Wife wanted to play Mega Millions tonight since it's $252 million (I didn't bother explaining that your chances of winning the jackpot alone are lower when the jackpot is larger, due to more people playing). It kind of depresses me to think about how many people play the lottery for a chance to leave their crappy lives behind.

It doesn't hurt anybody to throw a couple bucks at it. The money not won does go back into the local communities. Thats still not justification to me to play, but as long as its only a couple a bucks a year I see no harm in it.

I was wondering.. if someone were to win the lottery and they didn't want anyone to know because they wanted all their relationships to remain the same w/ friends and coworkers... is there a way to hide your identify if you win the jackpot?

do me a favor. go over the data for the last 10 years to figure out what the breakpoints are as to the size of the jackpot getting too big to have the best odds of winning by yourself. I don't think there would be much of a window there

My mom had me play $5 dollar mega millions earlier, my first time actually going through the process.

I agree with OP it really depressing since my mom told me not to do quick picks. I felt like I was doing another scantron exam from school, it sucked ass.
