May 16, 2005 - Right now at Sony's E3 2005 press conference, the president of Sony Entertainment Europe is showing The Getaway on PS3.

Details are still coming in, but the early word is that the thing is bloody amazing and looks like no digital recreation of London ever has. While the demonstration was devoid of driving or shooting, the game did display some incredible character models walking about a highly detailed English environment. Now, if only the power of PS3 can work out that poor camera just a bit.

They also ran the computer generated Spider-Man model from the actual Spider-Man 2 movie in real-time on PS3. Amazing.

UPDATE: There will not be a Final Fantasy VII remake for PS3. Repeat, there will not be a remake. But, there will be a new Final Fantasy game. We'll have info on that as it happens.

Damn, that would just completely end the console wars right there.

Hopefully they made EVERYTHING backward compatible, because I don't think too many people will be using that controller on the system.

I didn't read the entire thread, but I like it. :thumbsup: I'll probably get one when it comes out.

The controller looks funny, but I thought the same thing of the original PSX controllers, and I ended up liking them.

So, I'll keep an open mind on that.
