Whew ...

I woke up this morning - after some very vivid dreaming and was convinced that it was Monday morning.
Realized suddenly that I was supposed to give a 3 hour lecture after lunch and that I had not prepared myself for that lecture.
I thought "Thank God it is only 5:15 am ... ".
So i jumped into the shower, dressed, went to my study, sat down, focused, prepared the lecture, the handouts, looked at the clock (7:15 am) and realised that I was some minutes late for waking up the kids for school, breakfast, etc.
A quick check on the weather outside. It looked lousy: cold (-7ºC), windy (NE, 12 m/s), humid (95% relative), then to the internet to look at the weather forcast: And was I so upset! The morons have not updated the page! It still said: forecast for Sunday, February 25, 2007!
I was really frustrated and deeply disappointed! How could they do that!

It took me a few more moments to realise that it was Sunday and that Monday morning was at least 23 hours off, and that I could go back to bed and rest some more ...

The hot tea was just great. And the lecture preps were done. No more duties today. Life is wonderful. :sun:

Have a great Sunday, all of you!
May you all be blessed - no matter by which God or good power - and I wish you all, none named, none forgotten ...

All the best - all the love - all the happiness!

Petrus

Edit: spelling - oh, not again!

Nice story... You now have an unexpected day off, not to mention the fact that you have everything done for the next day. That's better than unexpected sex (or a close second, at any rate). And on that note of productivity, I think i'm going to go rearrange the bookshelf while my lovely wife is sleeping, and give her a nice surprise when she wakes up...

Ya'll have a good one.

Sounds like good weekends abound.

I'm going to have to live vicariously through you guys for this one.

My little cat Lucy who has kept me such good company for so long (17 years) had to be put to sleep yesterday. Yeah, I know it's just a cat, but that little girl has been my bud since my son was in diapers, through two failed marriages, and was far, far deeper under my skin than I could have imagined.

So here's to you Lucy  (<-- kitty beer, of course)
You were a great friend.

Insidious, you have my most sincere sympathy. It is a great loss for you - and I know what I am talking about.
I also had a great cat - friend. After some 14 years I had to put her down - due to cancer.
It has been some 5 years ago, but I still think of her and miss her a lot.

Wow, 17 years... That's amazing.

Oh, and screw anyone who says the whole "it's just a cat". I like cats and dogs better than people--they seem to prove their intelligence far more often than people do...

I had to retire "clunker" already. Poor little fella has a flaky motherboard, and he's not fairing very well. He made a valiant effort to crunch his little heart out, but unfortunately, he was put down this morning at about 6:40am CST. RIP Clunker, you will be missed.

Oh man, that made me LOL... I hope you formatted the computer good, so that it would go out with some dignity.

Maybe I will be able to resurect Clunker someday, but probably not anytime soon. I would have to find an extremely cheap socket A motherboard to accommodate my aging 1600+.
I'm planning on buying a truck next weekend, so my spending habits are going to have to change.
