Personally I think the scale is jacked up... B and C are basically the same thing just using different words. Not the most important thing VS Not at all Critical (Not critical meanin... not the most important?)

Then if I really wanted to... your question is "How much does noise matter to you?" Your answers are... I need a quiet computer, It's very Important, Important.... ETC... So B and C say that noise is something you have to have.

And agreeing with AgaBooga... a Poll would have been nice... but from here on out we'll use my scale Mwaha ha ha

The survey seems to indicate a choice between speed and noise has to be made which is false. You can build a very quiet system without compromising speed. You can have both. I do.

It's a lot more expensive for an overclocker to also care about noise than it is for the more plebian computer users. I would have to trade in my huge fans and large area coolers for water cooling or something whereas a normal person would only need to buy a quiet model fan since he doesn't need the cooling capacity.

If you're wasting money on "quiet" cooling then that money isn't going to getting the best new processors or that PCI card that gives you an 8GB ram disk, etc. So I'd say you can't fully commit to performance if you also require a quiet computer since everyone has a budget. Let's just look at hard drives for example. For the price of covering all your 15krpm SCSI drives with enough sound proofing to make them quiet (and making sure they don't overheat because of it), someone going all out for performance could get bigger drives or more of them, etc.

All of my computers have a quiet hum (and they all have for the last 20 years). The ammount of noise hasn't changed with speed. So I go for top performance and a quiet hum. That option isn't on your list.
