Why Creative ?
I have both, Live and MX300, for the games, the MX300 is the winner. the EAX is nothing compared to A3D (yes, i know Aureal is dead and the drivers is outdated, and the Diamond always too lazy to update their driver)

but before we say the A is better than the B, we should categorized it, whether best on games, or best on music, or best value etc

i'm not much of an audiophile.. i just discovered terratec from a couple peoples' posts in this thread. the specs on some of their high end cards... amazing. how come i don't see their stuff in any b&m stores? even their lower end ones?

I appear to be the only person here with a Terratec (DMX XFire 1024). This replaced my Soundblaster live value, solving my "cackling & popping" issues on a Socket 7 system (the usual "fixes" did not work for me.

The Terratec has an outstanding signal/noise ratio compared with the SB and is built to a very high standard. It really is "professional grade" in build quality and gives me good 3d. It cost 50% more than the SB value OEM but I am very very happy with it.

I'm not suggesting it is the best, but for me is better than SB live. Terratec are a "niche" vendor but deserve more visibility, and I suspect some of their more expensive cards would be outstanding if pricey.

My 2cents to "stir" the debate !

Almost no one else seems to use them so I don't have any way to "validate" my opinion. Other users need to come foreward and comment.

BlueScreen, you are not the only one that has discovered Terratec I would buy Terratec's EWS64 XL but that damn ASUS A7V has no ISA slots

I would of bought one of DMX's too along timeago but i can barely find them as well as now.
