Bladerunner is a great movie.............Kevin Smith is soooooooooooo over rated. All he does is have people swear like crazy, pretty much a sign that he doesn't have any talent.

Actually Mallrats was Kevin Smith's first studio movie - they gave him 6 million to make it, ad he came in slightly under budget. Clerks, on the other hand, was made for 28 thousand dollars. And what do you mean it has no plot? There's tons of plot in the movie....

I too thought Bladerunner sucked - It was such a dark, slow moving movie that I couldn't even make it to the end. What a bore. Don't believe the hype.

Agreed. They are in two entirely different classes of movies. Comparing the two movies is like comparing apples and twinkies.

yep, i totally agree with gates. i saw blade runner in film class, halfway through it, i was asleep on my desk, along with half of the class. if my teacher wouldve shown an indiana jones movie, i woulda been interested. just the plot and and the darkness of the movie didnt really appeal to me. of course, what do i know? i cant even stay up to finish a star wars movie. but i hear epsiode ii rox0rz, so ill see that one. on the other hand, mallrats isnt smiths best work, but itll make you laugh, and its entertaining to watch, even though the plot itself isnt the greatest in the world. and to whoever said smith's fame comes from vulgar-laden dialogue, i guess we'll see his writing skills put to the test in jersey girl (even though he's already proved himself, in chasing amy and even before mallrats, with clerks), which is his next project he's currently filming, and he's aiming for a pg-13 rating, so the obscene language im assuming will be cut down from his previous outings.

After you watch Mallrats, you should definitely watch Trooper Clerks (right-click, Save As). It's a parody of Star Wars and Clerks but also spoofs on Mallrats, the part where Silent Bob uses the force to get the tape. It's hilarious!!
