<< Can we end this kind of crap already? I am a practicing Catholic, and I love the Church, but come on, anyone who doesn't have their head stuck up their ass knows we evolved. End of story. Period. >>
Wow that is some profound wisdom from the gun control advocate. You couldn't make a reasonable argument to save your life, could you?
There are philosophical and scientific questions that must be answered by any belief system. Can life come from non-life? Can the universe start itself and then organize itself into a life support system for intelligent beings? If I find some really old bones/fossils, does that necessarily lead one to the theory of evolution?
On the other hand, if God created the universe 20 billion years ago, and then evolution occured, then was it under supernatural guidance, or was it front-loaded so that the laws of science would take care of it? If the laws of science indicate that all systems tend toward chaos and entropy, what kind of front-loading would result in the apparent reversal of that law? Why did God allow all those animals to die and kill each other for millions of years before the original fall of mankind? Didn't the fall of mankind introduce death to the earth?
And finally, for the young earthers: How did the light from all those stars already get here, if the earth is only 10,000 years old or so, how did the Earth cool so rapidly when simple math shows that the largest rock masses should still be smoldering hot after a "recent" creation event? Where did all those fossils and fossil fuels come from? What the heck is a Neandertal?
Anyway, ignorant ejaculations about which one of the views you should take on blind faith are futile.
