In my mind rap isn't something you can "fake" talentwise, like pop with Britney Spears and all those boy bands. A bad rapper wont sell records, period. Nelly and Ja Rule don't count as rappers, so don't use them as an example. He has an uncanny ability to write clever, although controversial, lyrics and his accomplishments speak for themselves.
I don't agree. 50 cent, for instance, doesn't sell skill but his image. Britney spears has more musical ability in her left foot than 50 cent in his wildest dreams. People can make it in nearly any industry without any real skill/talent if they have the right following.

We gonna party like... it's your birthday.

It's pronounced "birFday".

Some of M&M's lyrics/rhymes are clever, but when he speaks he comes across as extremly dense/slow redneck. It was funny when Triumph confronted him on the MTV awards and he couldn't come up with anything to say. Then he says "That Moby girl got me out of my zone, out of my zone, out of my zone. I'll hit a guy with glasses." That from a guy who can supposedly destroy all comers.

Vote NO.

Moby dissed him in sense, speaking out about homophobic/mysoginistic lyrics in an interview and naming M&M as an example.

Uhm...He shopped around that album for like years before Dre finally took it on.
I'm in the DET area and the only bit of Eminem I ever heard of was how he begged ICP to come see his show or let him open for them (they did neither btw). I am guilty of being a juggalo and I still think he's a no-talent.

I first heard him back in '97 on the Wake Up Show. Sway and Tech called him freestyler of the year that year. He was also featured in the source and billboard the next year, before he got signed. So Dre definitely didn't make him. If Dre hadn't signed him someone else certainly would have.

Talent-wise he smokes most of the other pieces of sh*t that pose as rappers. That's based on my limited (because I don't like most of what I see) exposure.

He's brilliant in his way but I'm really sick of his rants against Kim and his mother. I wish he'd find a few more things to write about.

Will the real Hussein please stand up?

Edit: and to make this relevant....

I don't know anything about the person, so I can't say whether I would like him or not, but I don't particularly care for his music (or any rap, for that matter).

He's skilled, but that's not that kind of music I actively listen to, but his stuff isn't half bad.

What do I vote?
