I don't agree. 50 cent, for instance, doesn't sell skill but his image. Britney spears has more musical ability in her left foot than 50 cent in his wildest dreams. People can make it in nearly any industry without any real skill/talent if they have the right following.Originally posted by: PoPPeR
In my mind rap isn't something you can "fake" talentwise, like pop with Britney Spears and all those boy bands. A bad rapper wont sell records, period. Nelly and Ja Rule don't count as rappers, so don't use them as an example. He has an uncanny ability to write clever, although controversial, lyrics and his accomplishments speak for themselves.
We gonna party like... it's your birthday.

Hate to break it to you but Eminem was already a huge underground hip hop star before he ever met up with Dre.

Uhm...He shopped around that album for like years before Dre finally took it on.
I'm in the DET area and the only bit of Eminem I ever heard of was how he begged ICP to come see his show or let him open for them (they did neither btw). I am guilty of being a juggalo and I still think he's a no-talent.

Sorta was my answer.
Talent-wise he smokes most of the other pieces of sh*t that pose as rappers. That's based on my limited (because I don't like most of what I see) exposure.
