Yes but that is trade mark on a website so that doesn't apply when talking about legos in general. It doesn't say, "you must say Lego and that is it".

Stop focusing on the fact that lego is from europe. If you replaced European with 'American' would your sentence make any less sense (yes it would be pointless, but would it be logically sound? yes).

Here's a way to use it in both ways. I made a LEGO house. I made a house of LEGOS. HMMM.. maybe it's the form of the word that matters. Descriptive for a product or a single brick. However you say it... I played with many bucket o' lego in my day.
