You must have been smoking it wrong if it tasted like ash. Besides the variety of natural flavors by itself, there's a range of flavored wraps as well.

Nope, when he's drunk, he's slow, stupid, uncoordinated, obnoxious, easily aggravated, etc.

When he's high, he's just slow and stupid.

The difference is, in the former he thinks he's the opposite of everything I listed and in the latter, he's aware of the fact, more or less.

Okay, I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag: it was a joke. Although I don't personally find the taste of marijuana very pleasant anyway, not to mention the variety seems rather poor and barely distinguishable. The variety of marijuana pales to that of the many varieties of alcohol.

The flavors of beer/liquor are barely distinguishable to an untrained palate as well

I don't consider myself trained in either, but I've gotta disagree. Variety in marijuana is much more subtle, and is probably closer to comparing varieties of specific types of wine than of beer. Different varieties of beer are generally drastically different, even to a novice. When you get down to comparing different flavors of whiskey and vodka though... meh. They all taste nasty, and in my opinion are for getting drunk only.

I have I've inhaled too. no noticable effects.

This is common the first 1-3 times you smoke, unless you smoke a LOT of it. I think it needs to build up a bit in your system.
